We are now in Vernon for the summer. We are volunteering as caretakers for a private resort called Fairhaven. This is our daily view at 3500 ft. above sea level. Kalamalka Lake is on the left and Okanagan Lake is on the right. Vernon is in the middle. (click to enlarge). A nice view to wake up to every day. There are rv hookups for us here.
This is the lodge that is nearing completion. It has a library, fitness room, reception, boardroom and offices. We are preparing for a grand opening of the lodge for the middle of June.
This is one of the chalets for guests of the retreat. There are six different themed chalets. More are to be built in the future. They all have the stunning view. The snow has now all melted from last week.

Boondocking
Friends saying goodbye as we head out.
We got 2 hours away and as we were going up a long hill Roy noticed smoke billowing behind us. After checking that it was from no one passing us, he pulled over. Looking under the truck, oil was dripping out of the transmission, hitting the exhaust and smoking. We were litterally in the middle of nowhere. Roy drove down the road to where we saw a gas station sign, to ask if there is a mechanic around. Just as we pulled in there was a transmission shop on the property. Wow. We talked to the owner and he said he was a Christian and just because we are in the middle of nowhere, he will not hose us on pricing. He removed the transmission and took it apart and showed us what was wrong with it. Seeing it was apart we had him rebuild it.
It took until the next morning to get parts so they made room in the parking lot for us to boondock in our RV. A few locals came by and greeted us. We told them it was a good RV park, with immenities close by.
There was a nice view of the valley.
Here they are assembling the transmission. The owner asked if I was going to caption this picture "How many Mexicans does it take to put together a transmission?". By 4 pm the next day we were on our way, as the saying goes, "A day late and a dollar short``. We are now at Seven Feathers in Oregon, where we just had the buffet. They had Sea Food Night, but also had prime rib and ham. Also just entering Oregon we hit a snow storm for an hour, but no snow stuck to the road. Hopefully tomorrow will be uneventfull, even with the border crossing.

Getting Ready
Getting ready to go north for summer, so we headed to Algodones Mexico for dental work for Roy and new glasses for Carol. Here we are having their great Mexican food.
My dental work took two days so we stayed at our friends Fred and Anita on Yuma for a couple of nights, going back and forth over the border. Roy saved a couple thousand dollars getting the dental work done in Mexico.
Our friends have a beautiful yard with a second park model and a seperate Arizona room.
Having lunch with Fred and Anita before leaving Yuma.
When we got back it was time to move the shed we got from Yves and Sandi, to our yard.
Carol was cleaning a few cupboards out in preparation for the trip north.
We moved our trailer forward and chained up the shed to Yves truck, put her in 4X4 and pulled the shed across.
Then brute strength to push it backwards into it's spot.
The boys were always playing games when it was time to work. Rob was standing there wondering when his turn was coming.
Here's the shed in place and trailer back in place.
The next day we had a good bye party to wrap up the season. After this some people left for BC and a few more leaving when we do (on Tues).
