Here's a recap of the past two and a half months. Can't believe how time is flying by.
Yves entered in the Tour D'Palm Springs again but this time he went the 100 km route. Also the race had a pitstop at our resort entrance.
For Valentines day we went out with Dave and Linda and their cousins from Saskatchewan, who were here visiting them. We went to the Kobe Japanese Steak House, where they cook up the food in front of you.
Here's the happy couple.
I made this pendant for Carol for Valentines Day. They are pearls still in the shell.
I took a day trip to Quartsite Arizona with one of my students. (I teach the rock class here). This was a statue made of rims and car parts, honoring the camel that used to roam this part of the desert.
One of many happy hours.
Carol went on a hike to the Painted Canyon. This is the entrance.
There were many ladders on the trail.
Here's the gang taking a break.
The women at the peak.
The view at the peak with the Salton Sea in the background.
More ladders.
Looking down on the trail from the next ladder.
End of the trail.
I entitled this one "Yves Harem".
For my birthday I woke up to steamers on the truck.
We all went out for Mexican for my birthday. Art and Margaret were out from Abbotsford.
Other side of the table.
A chocolate cigar and 24 carrots were some of the presents. More margaritas please.
The park model behind us left because they were putting in a new unit so we had a nice view for a while.
Yves and Sandi also bought a new park model and this is the lot for it.
Here it's coming down the road.
And parked in place. The driver sure knew how to put it exactly where it belonged.
The happy new owners.
We all helped built a brick wall behind it to keep the dirt back and give a nicer back yard and barbeque area.
We went to Disneyland and met Justin and his girlfriend Kelly.
George and Della also came down for a week.
Here we are in front of the statue honouring Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse.
Later Kelly took us to a Korean restaurant in LA. All the meat is cooked on a gas grill in your table. These are beef short ribs. They also had steak, beef belly and cows tongue. We tried them all. Here George is getting a lesson on chop sticks and the different sauces for dipping.
Where to start. More tongue please. The tongue was the only thing I tried that I did not care for, a little tough. Also on the menu was cow intestines. The menu actually listed it as guts. I told them that's one item they did not have to bring out, even though it was all you can eat.
Our group with all the thinly sliced meats ready to grill.
This woody was parked at a mall here with Nova Scotia plates on it.
