Fathers Day

We got to Vernon on Friday at 3 pm then off to a party at 4:30. All our California friends got together. There were 7 couples. Yesterday we were at grandson Jonah's fourth birthday party at the park.
Today was Fathers Day, so I opened my gift, a portable smoker. I have been smoking alot of ribs and in California I did a salmon, which was rated a 10 out of 10 by a professional butcher. Now I can try with better equipment. People are happy for me to experiment.
Then Carol and I went for brunch in town and a car show after. Here was my favourite, a 1955 Porsche.

Also last night we went to the Ballet, where granddaughter Zada performed. Here is a video of her in ballet class.

Tale of Two Pigs

Reunited after 45 years, are the pig cuttingboards Carol and Margaret each made for their mothers, in Wayfarers Club. They each got theirs back after all these years. Friday we are headed back to Vernon for 3 months before heading south.

Gold Beach, Oregon

We are spending a week in Gold Beach Oregon. Carol can relax and read by the ocean.

I can relax and sleep by the ocean.

Our RV park had six Dodge trucks in a row. One left this morning before I took the picture. There is an old lighthouse at the end of the row.

Mocha just loves to play in the surf.

There are two dead sea lions on the beach this morning, giving the vultures a smorgasbord.

I counted eleven of them, each waiting their turn.

Grants Pass

Tonight we are in Grants Pass, Oregon for the night, on our way to the Oregon Coast. An RV pulled into the site beside us, towing a barbeque. He goes to competitions and is coming back from one in Washington. He invited us to the next one this weekend just north of Sacramento California. That would be a dream come true, but we must trudge on to the coast to another dream of having the ocean out your RV door. Can't wait to get back to Vernon where I have a new smoker I've ordered online, waiting for me.
