Wednesday morning Carol and Linda (from Kelowna) went to see the Dr Phil show.
We dropped them off in the morning at the bus and it took them there and back. While they were there, Dave and I went to the Palm Springs Air Museum. George and I wanted to go if there was time. The girls had the cameras so we have no pictures. All the planes, mostly from the war, were in 2 hangars.
First the bus dropped them off for lunch at a farmers market in LA.
On Thursday evening we went to Kobe Japanese Steakhouse in Palm Desert. They have a fish pond with coy you could feed. Here's a movie for the grandkids and everyone else.
Our friends we met at the RV site, Dave and Linda, have a friend from the restaurant Leah. It was nice to be there with someone familiar with the place. The Japanese restaurant is one where the table surrounds the chef making your food. This video shows him cutting up the prawns. I had the Kobe beef. I have always wanted to try it, seeing it on cooking shows. Kobe beef comes from Japan. The cows are fed saki and beer and grain. They lay on beds and do not get exercise, to keep the meat tender. The cows have to be virgins. It runs $500.00 a pound. You have to try it once in your life, I have never tasted anything that tender.
Here the chef is making an onion ring volcano.
Today was too hot to do anything. It was 34 degrees (95F). Here's Dave relaxing by the pool in is favorite lounge. I think he likes to look at the old bats in the pool. Actually seeing the ladies in the pool, they are all staring at Dave.
