Here we are in front of our house on our first trip out. We thought we would head north to Dawson Creek before the snow flies. As we have not gotten our new truck yet, we rented one like we like, a Dodge Diesel 1 ton.

Like I said, we wanted to go before the snow flies. So much for that. We spent the first night at Al Reimers place in 100 Mile House, in our trailer. We haven't seen Al in years. We had a good supper out with Al and his wife Viv. We had a little skiff of snow when we woke up. This picture is going north out of Prince George. The highway was closed for an hour while they cleaned up an accident and sanded the road. We were worried about Pine Pass, north of Prince George, but it got less and less the further we went.

The road cleared up through the pass, so we went all the way to James and Doris's place at Dawson Creek. James found us a nice level spot in front of the house, and we put the trailer there, dwarfing the house. We had a good view of the city out our back window. The trailer was nice and cozy.

We did a little day trip with them to the start of the Alaska Highway.

Carol has fond memories, as a child visiting this Mile 0 Marker. No trip to Dawson Creek is complete without visiting this historical marker.

Of course, Carol had to hunt down the Starbucks Coffee shops which were few and far between.

Also I went for a flight with James in his plane. This is a shot looking at a property he is hoping to get.

The week went by too fast. We headed back uneventfully, spending the night at a campground in Clinton, then getting breakfast at A&W in Cache Creek. The rain close to Hope washed most of the highway grime off the truck and trailer. So for now the trailer is back in it's spot beside the garage.
